According to a Supreme Court ruling from 2006. This law was passed by the Supreme Court to safeguard women's rights. A marriage registration is an official declaration of a marriage between two persons and is carried out in accordance with two different sorts of laws. Either the Special Marriage Act of 1954 or the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955 may be used to register a marriage. That is the clearest sign that a marriage exists. For marriage registration, one can submit an application to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate. There isn't yet an online application option. Couples must submit crucial papers in addition to their legally signed application. It needs a passport-sized photo and evidence of an address and date of birth Witnesses are necessary. Witnesses can include guests who were present at the wedding. Both a PAN card and residency evidence are required. A Hindu marriage act's maximum period is 15 days, while a special marriage act's maximum period is 60 days. A tatkal marriage certificate can be requested in an emergency situation. Within a day, it is issued.
